Experience the difference!
Encourage life long faith formation and support ongoing conversion!
Faith formation today means reaching beyond the classroom and connecting with the center of parish lifethe liturgy. Faith formation is about forming disciplesdisciples who are formed in a worshiping community on fire with the faithso full of the spirit, in fact, that people young and old can't wait to share their faith with one another and all who are touched by their lives.
Connect faith formation to the liturgical celebration.
The primary event in the faith lives of Catholics is the liturgy, but how
do you connect that liturgical experience to the faith journeys of all
the people in your programschildren, inquirers, catechumens, candidates,
and life-long learners?
The Celebrating The Lectionary series uses the Sunday readings as the
springboard for weekly faith formation sessions that include Scripture
sharing, discussion, and engaging, age-appropriate activities. Each session
breaks open the readings, helps people connect the Scripture to their lives,
and suggests opportunities for people to put their developing faith into
action. This is faith formation that encourages people to live the call
to service and celebration!
What about doctrine?
Since CTL uses the lectionary readings of the church year, participants
are formed in the story of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection and the
continuing mission of the church as witness in the world. The doctrine and tradition
of the Catholic Church is covered throughout the church year, as outlined
in CTL's complete, year-long Scope & Sequence, which outlines spiraling systematic doctrinal
points presented each week through the lens of the readings and the liturgical calendar.
Finally
a whole-community solution!
(Or just select for a specific need.)
Wondering where to start? You could start by choosing whichever age-level
packets you needthere are specially prepared sessions for preschoolers,
youth, adults, and all ages in between. But CTL doesn't stop thereyou
might also want catechumenate sessions for children and/or adults; Children's
Liturgy of the Word; and bilingual (English-Spanish) handouts to put in
your Sunday bulletin for at-home faith sharing. Put all of these components
together, and you've got the comprehensive, whole community faith formation experience
you're looking for!
Wait. There's more!
The CTL series and its companion publications have so much to offer that
we can't even describe it all here. Check out the summarized information
below on this web page, and click on individual packets for more information
and sample materials to show you how CTL can help your parish experience
the difference of community-inspired faith formation!
"As a staff we are always excited about connecting
those with whom we minister with quality resources such as CTLespecially
as the vision of Whole Community Catechesis continues to take root throughout
the Archdiocese and across the country. CTL is such a wonderful resource
that lends itself incredibly well to the ongoing faith formation of the
whole community. "
- Fr. David Loftus,
Consultant/Coordinator, Adult Education & Catechist
Formation,
Office of Religious Education
Archdiocese of Los Angeles
"It wasn't long before we realized that the implementation
of CTL had completed the catechetical circle for us. Adults are being
catechized by children and children by adults. The Mass has become
the central focus for what is happening, not only with the catechumenate
but for all sacramental preparation as well. Registration is up and
children are excited about coming again."
- Heidi Macko, Regional Director,
Department of Christian Formation
Diocese of Ogdensburg, NY
